The MICHELIN Guide and Starward Whisky present the imaginative restaurant, True Laurel, in San Francisco. Created by Chef David Barzalay and Bar Master, Nicolas Torres, it’s the cool, younger sibling of two-star MICHELIN Restaurant, Lazy Bear.
The second episode of the MICHELIN x Starward G*Astronomy Series profiles True Laurel, San Francisco. Chef David Barzelay – a lawyer, turned underground dinner party chef, turned MICHELIN-starred restaurateur and chef – tells the story of his two-Star voyage. Teaming up with bar veteran Nicolas Torres, this bar-centered one-of-a-kind restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District highlights both wild and farmed local produce alongside rare, unique and small-batch spirits and wines.
Barzelay and Torres show off the magic of their hyper-seasonal menu collaboration with two signature dishes: Strawberry Beef Tartare and King Salmon Belly Tostada perfectly paired with cocktails: Sagan Summer (Starward Whisky, House Creme De Peche, Manzanilla, Riesling) and PetFriendly (Starward Whisky, House Strawberry Caraway Pet-Nat, Wolfamer, Pineau De Charentes).
